THIRTY students in the Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Advocating Life-Long Learning for an Aspiring Future (BIBD ALAF) programme recently attended a Brunei Culture and Malay Language Preservation workshop at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).

Jointly organised by BIBD and UBD’s Academy of Brunei Studies, the workshop focussed on three major topics: Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB), Bruneian customs and Bruneian traditions.

Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Pengiran Dr Hajah Siti Norainna binti Pengiran Haji Besar and Haji Muhammad Rafee bin Haji Shahif from UBD’s Academy of Brunei Studies facilitated the workshop.

Guest of honour Head of the Government Relations and Special Project Division at BIBD Haji Mohd Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah presented certificates to the participants.

Chairman of the organising committee Abdul Rahman bin Murni said, “The main aim of this workshop is to provide exposure for the preservation of Bruneian customs and traditions among BIBD ALAF students.”
